Consultant - Field Inspector Tasks

Consultant's tasks include performing site inspections that entail; condition assessment, leak investigation, weather damage, and monitoring roof replacement projects, throughout California, parts of Nevada and other Western States. The inspector will be looking at various roof systems and building structures in a day. Typically, a consultant will spend 2-3 days a week traveling in the field and 2-3 days in the office preparing detailed report documents. There is interaction with a wide range of diverse people from all walks of life.

Skills & Experience

Along with strong all-around technical roofing knowledge, computer, typing and writing skills are required to compose professional, detailed written reports with photo descriptions, summaries and footprint drawings; documents that must withstand the scrutiny of other industry and legal experts.

Familiarity with steep and low sloped waterproofing systems, accepted trade application procedures, any history of documented product failures, along with the experience to ascertain the cause(s) and source(s) of deficiencies and/or water intrusion in a structure.

A calm and neutral demeanor is essential with excellent "people" skills,
a "can-do" attitude as well as the physical stamina necessary to properly handle ladders and access multiple structures in a day. 
Previous experience writing specification documents and/or a position in upper management are also desirable.
